Courageous Neighbor Stops Burglar in His Tracks
On January 15, 2020, at approximately 4:27 PM, Pelham
Police Department received a call from a homeowner who advised when she just
arrived home, there was an unknown Chevrolet Avalanche in her driveway with no
one in it and its engine running. The
homeowner stated that her neighbor went to her residence to check on her home
while she stayed behind at his residence.
The neighbor then located a male subject in the homeowner’s house. The
assisting neighbor then presented his firearm to the unknown male subject as
they remained in the driveway until police arrived.
Upon arriving in the area of Kennedy Dr., officers
observed a male subject holding a firearm in the direction of a male subject
leaning against a running vehicle in the driveway of the home. The male subject holding the firearm immediately
announced to officers that he had a firearm and secured it under the officer’s
direction. Officers then approached the male subject leaning against the
running vehicle who matched the description initially provided by the caller.

residence. Billcliff was placed under
arrest and transported to the Pelham Police Department for processing. The
vehicle Billcliff was driving was towed from the scene pending a Search
